Lenny Conundrum - Round #408

Recently, Neopets celebrated their one trillionth pageview. To celebrate, the user TrillionFTW auctioned and traded many ultra rare items, which were purchased by many a lucky Neopian.
How many Neopoints did TrillionFTW make during this sale? Submit only a number with no punctuation, and with no other text. Because we're judging this one differently than usual, it's important to submit only a number. The first 250 guesses within one million Neopoints of the correct answer will receive the prize; and the person with the closest guess will receive an additional, special prize.

  1. How much did everyone put?

  2. First thing that caught my eye were two things.

Were these two a grammatical error, or done on purpose.

    "a lucky Neopian".
    "this sale".

Would these both not refer to it being a single sale?
Just throwing some ideas out there.

    ReplyDelete
  3. maybe 1Trillion -ignore

    ReplyDelete
  4. i guess its impossible to know the correctly aswer, right?

    ReplyDelete
  5. "a lucky Neopian".
    "this sale".
    -
one brazillian user won the nex pb+acara trans potion+ something in a trade! she offered, i think, 66 np

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yeah, everyone will submit a different answer.

    Not 1 trillion.

Just have to be reasonable I guess :/.

    ReplyDelete
  7. there weren't any grammatical errors.

'many a lucky Neopian' is correct...and 'this sale' refers to the entire sale...

    ReplyDelete
  8. "one brazillian user won the nex pb+acara trans potion+ something in a trade! she offered, i think, 66 np "

    -

You might be on to something, hmm.
    Do you know his/her username?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hmm, that IS odd. Also, I can't imagine we'd be expected to know how much was made from trades as those are supposed to be anonymous...right?

    ReplyDelete
  10. no, she offered 69 nps, but she was freezed? o-õ

    ReplyDelete
  11. sale may refer to a generic term as in 'sale now on'

    ReplyDelete
  12. Do you know his/her username?
    -
    bahh_69 , she offered 69 nps

    ReplyDelete
  13. if you go to trillionFTW site, it says something about Hubrids Odial Sphere but has no auctions or trades up

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah but what about the "a luck neopian". Surely that is referring to one sale.

TNT knows know no one can guess the right answer. So just assume each trade winner offered like 2500NP (Since the limit was 5000NP).

    ReplyDelete
  15. yeah, i've think it's about the odial sphere, but....

    ReplyDelete
  16. it doesn't make sense to be as low as 69 NPs though, does it, since you have to be within 1million?

    ReplyDelete
  17. What do you think how many auctions were going each day? 3? 5? 20? 100? More? Less?

    ReplyDelete
  18. why is the trade limit 5000 NP?

    ReplyDelete

she has won? The new PB+Meow+Acara trans potion, all was on her gallery...

    ReplyDelete
  20. are you ignoring my post?
'many a lucky neopian' is NOT referring to one individual...idk how anybody could take it that way o.o

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wasn't a limit, TNT said to offer less than 5000NP. So the winner must have offered less than that.

Within 1million, may just have been a trick to deceive us.

About 15 auctions a day, Id say.

    ReplyDelete
  22. does anyone know the amount from the auctions?

    ReplyDelete
  23. are you ignoring my post?
'many a lucky neopian' is NOT referring to one individual...idk how anybody could take it that way o.o

    -

How could it not? If they wanted to refer to all the winners, something like "many luck neopians" would be good.

    ReplyDelete
  24. the auctions was only 1 item, but the las was 3 ...

    ReplyDelete
  25. where are you looking at where TNT said to offer less than 5000?

    ReplyDelete
  26. the auctions was only 1 item, but the las was 3 ...

    -

    Huh?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tnt posted it in the trade description.
They said specifically offer less than 5000NP.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "its pretty easy
just add up what most of the auctions went for."
    -
maybe? one user answerd this on the boards...

    ReplyDelete
  29. either way is grammatically correct: you can say many lucky neopians or many a luck neopian. It's just a different way of saying it, but it means the same thing gramatically

    ReplyDelete
  30. http://www.neopets.com/userlookup.phtml?user=forestedlove

    Bid 4325 on a mskull

    ReplyDelete
  31. Huh?
    -
all the trades, was only 1 item. BUT, the9i think it's the last, 'cause i've never seen one more), the girl won 3 items.....if we should some the amount of the est. values of the items?

    ReplyDelete
  32. is there a link to this trade?

    ReplyDelete
  33. We can assume that all the trades, and the 1 minute auctions went for about 2,000,000? Only a matter of gathering how much all the other auctions went for.

2500NP each trade. Id say there was like 25 trades in total? Since the trades started late, pretty sure like 25 is correct.

And most of the one minutes auctions, sold for less than 50,000NP.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 'many a lucky neopian' is just a complex wording, it still means MANY.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No, trillionftw trades are done.
But Im 100% sure they said bid less than 5000NP.

My correction then. Didn't think that was proper wording, but I guess TNT is just trying to mess with us.

Don't think it's the est. value of items.

    ReplyDelete
  36. EDIT: Meowclops got sold in the auction for roughly speaking 3.55 mil NP

    ReplyDelete
  37. are you kids special? many a lucky neopian is a perfectly acceptable phrase for referring to many neopians. you can say many a lucky orphan got a home or many a lucky child went to school (those thinking it's a hidden 'clue' connoting singularity are obviously not one of those lucky children). read a book once in a while.
also, yes the answer is the sum of what everyone bid, so unless you want to figure out who bid, track them down, and add up their bids...i suggest just guessing.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah, the MSPP went for about 4.8 mil, the Draik MP I was bidding on closed at 4.2 or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I swear there was a page filled with trillionftw's screenshots. Not sure who had it. Someone on the BDC though.

    ReplyDelete
  40. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/KomoriChu/Picture6-3.png

    ReplyDelete
  41. anyone know how many auctions there were? Because it doesn't look like the error will come from the trades much +/-5000NP given an acceptable error of 1,000,000. We need to focus on the auctions and just estimate the trades.

    ReplyDelete
  42. there were so many items that werent accounted for in the auctions too like the Acara Trans and lab map pieces. I say the best way to do this is guess unless theres someone with a Accurate full list of the items that went through along with the winning bid

    ReplyDelete
  43. one person is saying:
    "My guess was.... 0
Neopets dont make np, they create them! "

    ReplyDelete
  44. what day did trillion stop doing auctions?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Haunted Woods Devotee22 June 2011 at 15:06

    humflelump 4,198,644 NP 16/6/2011 01:17pm MSPP

This person won like 3 or 4 of them. Least is 2. They kept bidding at the last moment :K

    ReplyDelete
  46. Monday evening.
The Hubrids Odial Sphere was the final trade.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Haunted Woods Devotee22 June 2011 at 15:17

The Hubrids Odial Sphere was the final trade.
    --
I bidded on that one and no one found out who got it. Also, no one ever got the "offer was accepted/ another offer accepted.

So it just might be 0 as the answer.

    Just a thought though :P

    ReplyDelete
  48. about 60 auctions then?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I bidded on that one and no one found out who got it. Also, no one ever got the "offer was accepted/ another offer accepted.

Someone did get it. I saw a post somewhere about it, I forget the username.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Haunted Woods Devotee22 June 2011 at 15:29

Other people are saying the answer is 0 because Neopets only sink money and never make nps.

I already submitted my answer. So far, I never been wrong :P

I am thinking this was just another nps sink, but they gave out items

    ReplyDelete
  51. http://www.neopets.com/userlookup.phtml?user=sacados

She won the Hubrids Odial Sphere.

    ReplyDelete
  52. It wasn't a NP sink.
They wanted older rare items, to be more available to newer players.

They also wanted to drive down krawk/draik mp prices after constant requests from players.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Then... the answer is... 259,000,000? xD

    ReplyDelete
  54. My guess is 100,000,000 0:-)

    ReplyDelete
  55. dark julian said he won a MSPP card for 265k...lucky lucky lucky

    ReplyDelete
  56. Where did you get 259,000,000 ...?
Don't think 100,000,000 will fall in the 1,000,000 range of the actual value.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I did 701408733 the 44th Fibonacci Number. 44 is my lucky number :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. It's definitely under 100,000,000 lol.

    ReplyDelete
  59. http://www.associatedcontent.com/slideshow/86367/neopets_trillion_page_view_staff_auctions.html?cat=19

    ReplyDelete
  60. 355000 was my guess. someone bid on the grey draik morphing potion for around that much. I rounded.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's accumulative.
I predict it to be somewhere in the 40,000,000 - 75,000,000 vicinity.

    ReplyDelete
  62. if you add up all the closed auctions on that webpage above, and estimate some numbers for the ones that weren't closed yet, that gets you to about 18milion, I;m assuming they probably only got a third of the auction, so times 3, gives me about 54 million(with 25 trades at 2500 apiece added in)....

    ReplyDelete
  63. i answered 0 also. but this is why: because they are extremely rare items and went for less than they are worth, so in fact they lost money. so they made 0 neopoints. CORRECT ANSWER

    ReplyDelete
  64. More than sure, there not looking for 0.

    ReplyDelete
  65. How many Neopoints did TrillionFTW make during this sale? They did not ask for how much of a profit they made. So no, the answer is not 0.

    ReplyDelete
  66. It's stated that we have to come within a million to be eligible for a prize, and the closest guess will win another special prize, so it can't be 0.

    ReplyDelete
  67. i have screenies of all snipes except the ones than happened on thursday night D: only sniped 3 of them D:

    ReplyDelete
  68. "only a number" - a single digit maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  69. i remember that card....and that gass paint brush worth 25m

    ReplyDelete
  70. on the neopets news it said they were gonna auction many retired items. i don't know if this will help or not.

    ReplyDelete
  71. by many a lucky neopian? mysterious

    ReplyDelete
  72. WAIT IT SAYS THE USER TRILLIONFTW. GO LOOK ON HIS LOOKUP!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. for some reason on his nc collectible case on wit and wizardry he got the bonus item without purchasing the rest. if this was a new account then he probably wouldn't have gotten it. get all items receive a bonus. probably that mysterious bonus was in the trading or auction. idk if its important or not...

    ReplyDelete
  74. It's not.
It's a staff account. They can generate whatever they want lol.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think were overthinking too much on this one...

    ReplyDelete
  76. It's the actual amount of Neopoints TrillionFTW made from all of his sales.

This amount is not greater than 75,000,000.
This amount is not less than 40,000,000.

This is what I have gathered. From here, it's your best educated guess.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I got it! The answer is 1 Trillion!!!!!! Check Trillion FTW User Lookup!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Really starting to tick me off. What is on the user lookup :S? I don't see anything.

    ReplyDelete
  79. i don't get it either.

    ReplyDelete
  80. kidbecomethedream23 June 2011 at 09:20

I just punched in random numbers and now I'm hoping for the best. I think that's probably what they're expecting, with "first 250" guesses and it being within a range etc.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I don't get it....whats on hes look???
    -
Congratulations! You have guessed correctly in the Mystery Pic game (Round 1018). We have given you a Golden Orb Stamp and 1834 NP!
    Thanks :P

    ReplyDelete
  82. the answer is definitely zero nps.. the lookup says "nothing remains on this account," i think that this just leads to it being a np sink.

    ReplyDelete
  83. It's not 0.
I guess we'll see when the answers are released.

    ReplyDelete
  84. But if they say nothing remains on this account.

    ReplyDelete
  85. How does that even relate to the question?

    The question is :

How many Neopoints did TrillionFTW make during this sale?

    It's not 0. It's not one trillion.

    ReplyDelete
  86. hey is some1 going to start a link for mystery pic 1019?

    ReplyDelete
  98. Conformation on ye-olde - It fits on the big stalactite or mite, whatever on the left :)

    ReplyDelete
  99. You are confirming Ye olde?

    ReplyDelete
  100. k...meh still waiting on Lenny C Solver to post a blog on MP 1019

    ReplyDelete
  101. i'm going with Ye Olde Fishing Vortex

    ReplyDelete
  102. I believe it is one trillion, but that is simply a guess.

    ReplyDelete
  103. This is the toughest Lenny Conundrum.

    ReplyDelete
  104. But it says: "which were purchased by many a lucky neopian." Is it me or does it look like "many" was the name of the lucky neopian?

    ReplyDelete
  105. ^That is me but also Trillionftw's pet's petpage says that the owner bought him a fantastic trampoline. The image is a red trampoline. The est. price is 1986 Np that is going to be my guess...

    ReplyDelete
  106. We need to find out what ftw means.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Yet again.
This LC is simple in terms of what it's seeking.

The answer is the cumulative sale of all the nps made during the auctions and trades.

    ReplyDelete
  108. "Anonymous said...

^That is me but also Trillionftw's pet's petpage says that the owner bought him a fantastic trampoline. The image is a red trampoline. The est. price is 1986 Np that is going to be my guess..."

I'd just like to say that your theory is both ridiculous and genius. I am positive that you're not right, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I really hope you're right. It would allow all future LCs to have truly off-the-wall solutions with no logical reasoning. That is my dream. =)

    --E--

    ReplyDelete
  109. Like a couple people said before (though nobody is listening to them) The answer is total # of np that TrillionFTW made off ALL their traades/auctions put together. It is a LARGE #. "many a lucky neopian" is referring to ALL the ppl who were lucky enough to win the auctions or trades.
There is a saying: "many a new day will come" many a new day refers to many days. "many a lucky neopian" refers to many neopians. It's a simple question. We just don't know what the answer is.
There is no info about the winners or how much np they paid. So there is something we're missing. This is either a trick question, or a really-hard-to-see answer that's right in front of us.

    ReplyDelete
  110. So this question is (technically) unsolvable? We'll have to rely on pure guesses now?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Pure educated guesses.
    It's not larger than 75,000,000.
    Not smaller than 40,000,000.

    ^My theory.
    Anyone agree?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Mm. Explain your theory?

    ReplyDelete
  113. 2500 each trade (Half of the max), I say there was like less than 30 trade. Safe to assume that there around 150,000.

One minutes auctions all went for under 75,000.
About twenty-five of those? So like 2,000,000.

The rest of the nps made were all dependent on the other auctions. There were a few big ones that went for like 5-8.

From there, just produced some numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Ahh. But still where'd the extra 38M come from?

    ReplyDelete
  115. "The rest of the nps made were all dependent on the other auctions. There were a few big ones that went for like 5-8."

    ReplyDelete
  116. LennyC Solver you obviously haven't participated in any snipes. How can you even call yourself a LannyC Solver when you spout such blatant lies? Barely ANY of the 1 minute auctions went for under 75k, and barely ANY of the 1 hour auctions went for 2m. I happen to have around 70 of these snipes now and i can tell you the answer is already ABOVE 200m. i haven't even finished collecting all the snipes yet. The most expensive items auctioned were the MSPP (went for 7m) and the Plushie Draik MP (6.9m).

    ReplyDelete
  117. Maybe the fact that this is the 408th lenny conundrum should give is a hint.

    ReplyDelete
  118. something near 408 mill?

    ReplyDelete
  119. umm... sorry for the typo "should give is a hint." supposed to be us instead of "is."

I guess we'll find out when the answers get released. A good 75% of the one minute auctions went for less than that.

Alot of auctions went for less than 2m too lol. All the trans, backgrounds, etc.

just trying to be helpful >'.'<

    ReplyDelete
  123. I have it! Since this is the 408th round, the amount of neopoints they earned is close to 40.8 mill!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Just throwing my two cents in as usual, I don't there is no trick or hint to this question.

By this I mean, the question is 100% straight-forward. The answer is however much np, they made cumulatively.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I just figured something out! If nobody gets in the 1,000,000 np range, but someone gets a closer estimate than the rest, they don't win the conundrum, but they still get the "extra" prize TNT was talking about!!!!!!!!!

HEY! WHAT'S WITH YOU? LENNY KNOWS WHAT HE DOES, AND IT'S OBVIOUS THAT YOU DON'T. FIRST OF ALL NOT ALL LC ANSWERS ARE BASED ON PURE MATH, SOME ARE JUST INTUITION, SO PLEASE DON'T BE RUDE.

  130. omg so off xD well good try. i randomly guessed! no way could have figured it out.

    ReplyDelete
  131. it looks like we were all way off(only 11 people got within 1mil NP), and it wasn't over 200m... oh well, there's always next time... I wonder what the special prize will be...

  132. A new Lenny Conundrum competition has begun. The answer to last week's was 174515266. 11 people guessed the correct answer earning themselves 181819 NP each, and one lucky person guessed the closest and won a Midnight Jelly World Stamp!

    Wow, amazing prize.
