The Continuing Conundrums of Plumpy, the Angelpuss
When Plumpy isn't napping, purring, or philosophising, he's eating. Plumpy eats twice a day, except on Mondays when he eats three times because Mondays are tough for everyone. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he eats 0.8 times his weight per meal and gets taken to the park to sit on the grass for three hours before being wheeled back home in a little red wagon. Fridays are for grooming, when he only eats 0.3 times his weight per meal because he'd rather be pampered. He prefers the Air Faerie Hair Brush for his fur and, believe it or not, Hubrid Brand Moustache Wax works best to make the halo shiny. On the weekends, when the bacon is most plentiful, he eats 1.6 times his weight total each day. If it's a Wednesday or a Monday, he will eat exactly his weight in juppies. No more, no less. Do not question Plumpy. Of course, if it's a Species Day, he also eats another 0.15 times his weight in cake as long as the cake has polka dotted frosting and bacon filling, which it always does.
How much did Plumpy eat during the Month of Eating, Y14? Round to the whole pound and enter just the number, with no punctuation or number formatting.
35 pounds
ReplyDelete10 lbs im sure of it
ReplyDeleteWhat??? It is asking for how much he ate during the entire month of Eating!
ReplyDeletei got 1574 lbs, anyone else?
ReplyDeleteI got 1574..
ReplyDeletethe answer is 273
ReplyDelete2680 lbs here.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, i forgot that it was for the whole month, damn it. it is 1574
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get 1574? How much do you think he weighs?
ReplyDeletehe weighs 40 lbs (from last weeks LC)
Deleteonce you know that, it's basic math
Doesn't he weigh 28?? That's how I calculated it.
Deletehe weighed 28 at the last weigh in, but the scale was 12 points off! :o
Delete*pounds :p
Delete28 was wrong.. the scale was off by 12 pounds
DeleteDefinitely not 1574 then.
DeleteSunday- 64 lb per meal, 2 meals x 5 Sundays = 640lbs
Monday- 40 lb per meal, 3 meals x 5 Mondays = 600lbs
Tuesday- 32 lb per meal, 2 meals x 4 Tuesdays = 256lbs
Wednesday- 40 lb per meal, 2 meals x 4 Wednesdays = 320lbs
3 days to go and already at 1816lbs....
Ah right, in which case, yes 1574. And as for above, if you read it right, it's not per meal for each day. Eg on Saturday and Sunday it's just 1.6 times his body weight in total.
Deleteweekends "he eats 1.6 times his weight TOTAL each day" so sun/sat is 64 lbs
Delete"If it's a Wednesday or a Monday, he will eat exactly his weight in juppies" so only 40lbs on mon and wed
sun: 64lbs x 5 = 320
Deletemon: 40 x 5 = 200
tues: 64 x 4 = 256
wed: 40 x 4 = 160
thurs: 64 x 4 = 256
fri: 24 x 4 = 96
sat: 64 x 4 = 256
plus 6 lbs per pet day x 5 pet days = 30
total is 1574
I got 1580
ReplyDeleteARGH I'm dumb. I accidentally included grey day.
ReplyDelete+1 I did the same stupid thing! :)
DeleteI thought it was 28 last time.
ReplyDeleteit is 28 it said i got it right
ReplyDeleteWhat's his weight ?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I have it but would rather let confusion ensue so I get more np out of it at the end of the week XD Good luck guys
ReplyDelete28 was right, I got NP.
ReplyDeleteNo, if you recall, the question was, What was his last weigh in. And at this weigh-in the scale was off by 12 pounds, and 20 lbs was half of his weight.
Deleteguys u have to round it so it cant be 1574 by its it has to be 1570
ReplyDeleteRead the question! You round to the NEAREST POUND if your answer is a decimal, not the the nearest 10 pounds!!
DeleteWhy are you all posting your answers.......you realize that's less prize money for the rest of us honest Conundrummers. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteAww man... someone posted the rounding thing. Pretty sure I submitted it earlier though.
ReplyDeletedoes he gain weight from eating? like if on sunday the 1st he eats 64 lbs of food, and was originally 40 lbs, would his weight change?
ReplyDelete1574
ReplyDelete5 Sundays, 4 Saturdays = 9 * 1.6
4 Tue, 4 Thu = 8 * 0.8 * 2 (2 meals each day)
5 Mon, 4 Wed = 9 * 1
4 Fri = 4 * 0.3 * 2
5 Species Days = 5 * 0.15
Total = 39.35
Amount of food = 39.35 * 40 (his weight from last LC)
But I used 28 instead of 40, and gave the wrong answer! :(
"On the weekends, when the bacon is most plentiful, he eats 1.6 times his weight total each day." ....it doesn't say two times...it says total. "If it's a Wednesday or a Monday, he will eat exactly his weight in juppies. No more, no less."...once again, it said nothing about per meal. It's meant to trick you.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's 28 is the accurate weight of angelpuss and it's best no to round what you are using in the equation. It's best to round to the nearest whole number/pound (because you should get a decimal if done correctly) after you multiplied and added everything up.
ReplyDeletePeople, please... I use metric system...
ReplyDeleteIs lbs the same as pounds? (if not, why are you guys changing the unit??)
It says "round to the whole pound". Since 4 is an integer number, I didn't round 1574 as some people are saying. Does it make any sense to round it to 1570??
lbs is just the short form for pounds
DeleteI think some people write the wrong answer here on purpose...
ReplyDeleteFrom last weeks LC:
1) The last time Plumpy was professionally weighed at a PPL centre, the scale was off by 12 pounds but he hadn't actually lost any weight.
2) If you took 20 and then added half his weight, that's how much he actually weighs.
Question:
What did the scale read at Plumpy's last PPL visit? Enter an integer.
So, the answer was 28 because the question was not his actual weight, but what did the scale (which was off by 12 pounds) read.
His actual weight is 40.
lbs=pounds
ReplyDeleteand also 1574 is already an integer number

DeleteIf it's a Wednesday or a Monday, he will eat exactly his weight in juppies. No more, no less.
ReplyDeleteDo you still times his weight by 3 on mondays?
Mondays and Wednesdays he will eat exactly his weight in juppies no more no less. It does say per day or per meal. It doesn't say he eats one third that amount per meal on Mondays. He must eat his weight per meal no more no less.
ReplyDeletenew mystery pic answer?
ReplyDeleteOkay, first off I am a genius,(that is a joke) and I am the first on this forum to get this answer right (not joking). I tried pasting the calender that I created in word, here, but it sucked and I quit it. Anyway, if you all are willing to do the math, cool here is how it is done. Everyone who said 1574 was right, but they did not account for the 2nd and 16th. The fatty did not eat extra food on those days. Once you account for that you have a completely different and correct answer, check the calender for yourself, you should see what I mean. And thank you to everyone who did all that math before me, it was really helpful and all, but the subtle wording screwed you guys over, however, your math was still great.
ReplyDeleteWell, you could be right or you could be wrong depending on how TNT feels about their wording. It says "If it's a Wednesday or a Monday, he will eat exactly his weight in JUPPIES. No more, no less." I capitalize juppies because THAT is what he eats his weight in. It does NOT say that he abstains from eating CAKE on species days just because it falls on a day that he eats juppies. So that said, I agree with the answer 1574.
Deleteso what is the right answer i got 1574 here but do i round to 1570 or what?
ReplyDeletei got 1526
ReplyDeletemondays he eats 40, tuesdays he eats 64, wednesdays he eats 40, thursdats he wats 64, firdays only 12, saturday and sunday 64, and then 6 in cake for species days, of which there were 5 in that month.
i calculated it 3 times, and came up with 1526 not 1574, can anybody confirm this or deny this?
nevermind, i got fridays wrong :(
ReplyDeleteQuestion. Wouldn't his weight increase every time he eats, thereby changing the factors every day, or for that matter, every meal? /is confused
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure you're all wrong :-) If you're trying to actually win anything worth winning, it wouldn't be advisable to tell EVERYONE the answer. But, because I'm nice, there are not 5 special days, there are 7. No, you do not include the added weight he would gain from being such a fatty...this is all based on the correct answer from last week...which is NOT 40. On Mondays and Wednesdays you do not multiply the amount of juppies by 3, it's just his weight...so that's the answer for those days. On special days that fall on a Monday or Wednesday, you DO add the extra .15 of his weight even though it says "no more, no less" because he can't pass up the cake. The "no more, no less" is basically telling you that he eats his weight in juppies that day and that's it...except on special days. I'm a little sad to have to do this last part...but when rounding, if the number after the decimal point is 5 or greater, round up by one (ex. 14.6 = 15). If the number after the decimal point is lower than 5 you just scrap it (ex. 14.3 = 14). Oh, and it doesn't matter if you use the metric system, you don't add lbs to the answer...focus only on the numbers, not the unit of measurement. :-D
ReplyDeleteYes, his weight was 40. The scale said 28 (which was the answer), but the scale was wrong, remember? It was reading 12 pounds light.
DeleteYea...I realized that after I posted it but apparently you can't delete a post??? -_- But the other points I made were true :-) Oh well, got this week wrong. No biggie! I also didn't mean to sound like an ass...I'm kinda naturally sarcastic :-D
DeleteThere are 7 special days, but it asked for species days. There is a difference. And it is 40...the question last week was how much did the scale read (which was 12 pounds off). You are right about not multiplying Monday or Wednesdays by anything....but also, including the cake because it never specified not to. There should be no decimal because the weight is 40...you'd get nice whole numbers the whole way through.
Deletewell you are right, the correct answer wasn't 40 but 28 for last week's answer. however, that's the weight on the scale. his actual weight is 40. other than that, everything else is right.....unless tnt wants to annoy us and say thats wrong.
Deleteomgz tnt made a mistake and used 28, so i actually got it right! look:
DeleteCongratulations! You have guessed correctly in the Lenny Conundrum game (round 455). You have won 16667 NP!
Because you were in the first 250 to guess correctly, you also have been awarded a Clay Petpet Paint Brush, and receive a trophy and the Lenny Conundrum avatar!
i do not know this is true or not but i think the answer for this weeks mystery picture is neocola machine
ReplyDeleteDoesn't match
ReplyDeleteYes it does.
ReplyDeleteSo I was pretty sure I got it wrong because I counted with 28 as his weight but then I remembered it was what the scale read and it wasn't his actual weight. But now I just got a neomail from TNT and they said I got it right so they must have gotten confused too XD because 28 isn't his weight. It is all very confusing.
ReplyDeleteSame I entered the answer someone posted when they used 28 instead of 40 and got it right...huh.
